Infantino Prop-A-Pillar
Harris has always been a strong baby, but he still just really hates tummy time. He would rather be stood upright or lay flat on his back while he punches and kicks the air. When I put him on his tummy, since about 2 and half months, he just rolls right over to make it stop. So we bought this prop a pillar to try to prevent him from rolling over right away while he works on his back and tummy muscles.
The Basics:
The Infantino Prop-A-Pillar is a caterpillar shaped circle that transforms into an shape for tummy time and two small C-shapes (one side doubled) to make a seat when your baby can hold himself up. It comes in just one style, the patchwork caterpillar, and has two toys hanging off it: a teether ring and a crinkle paper sun with bendy mirror. The patches are different materials like corduroy, silk, denim, and cotton. The bolster transitions to a seat using velcro straps. I don't think you can wash it.
Personal Review:
This is a wonderful toy! Its a must if your kid hates tummy time as much as Harris. I put him on this for tummy time with something exciting in front of him like the DIY mobile, the googly eye sensory bag, pom pom dive, or a box of herbs from the herb garden (pictured). He will stay much longer in tummy time this way, and he gets pretty into the two toys that are attached. You can remove the toys and replace them too with anything that can strap around a little circle. The seat is fantastic for teaching him to hold himself up. He likes to put his arms around the back or sides for support. You definitely have to watch him during the seat time because there are no straps to keep him in, and until he can hold himself up, he will topple forward.
I can't recommend this enough for tummy time and for learning to sit up on his own!
